RTI FOUNDATION CONCERNED OVER WEAK IMPLEMENTATION OF RTI ACT IN THE STATE Young Bites. Dated: 3/20/2018 11:45:07 AM Haq Nawaz Nehru Doda , Mar 19 J&K RTI Foundation conducted an important meeting on "the implementation of J&K RTI Act 2009 in J&K" at its Magam Office on Sunday. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman J&K RTI Foundation, Er. Irfan Banka and attended by RTI Activists from different places. During the meeting RTI Activists from far flung areas like Brenwar and Baramulla shared their bad experiences related to illegal misuse of Section 6 (3) of J&K RTI Act 2009 by the Public Authorities, No reply to most of the RTI Applications by the PIO's and Non awareness of RTI Act in the state both among the government officials and the common masses. On 9th Anniversary of J&K RTI Act 2009, there has been a 32% dip in RTI Applications. Awareness by Governemnt is ZERO. Section 4 yet to be implemented on the guidelines issued by DoPT. J&K RTI Foundation holds meeting regarding Section 23 of J&K RTI Act 2009 A detailed discussion regarding Section 23 of J&K RTI Act 2009 was carried out on Sunday (March 04, 2018) at Office of the  J&K RTI Foundation  wherein  Karar Reshi   Zulfikar Hussain Hurrah   Er Irfan Banka  filed a joint application against  Government of Jammu and Kashmir  seeking status of compliance of Section 23 of J&K RTI Act 2009 by Government since 2009 till date. Section 23 of J&K RTI Act 2009 impresses upon the Government to organize training programmes for Government officers especially PIOs but majority of the designated PIOs and First Appellate Authorities (FAAs) in J&K haven’t been trained to deal with RTI related cases.
